An activities programme for retired senior people

Local organisation that promotes holistic wellbeing and quality of life for Indian seniors in our community and their families – and helps you adapt to the NZ way of life.

The Chinese Positive Ageing Charitable Trust was established to assist with the physical and psychological well-being of Chinese seniors in New Zealand. It aims to enhance the holistic health of Chinese elderly by maintaining regular social contacts in the community.

Weekly meetings for FREE English lessons, socialising, games, guest speakers, t’ai chi etc. With over 800 members, it provides advice on adapting to the NZ way of life to support senior migrants from China. Includes hobby groups such as singing, dancing, calligraphy, painting,, ping pong and Chinese literature.

Probus is an association for active members of the community, and for those no longer working full time, to join together in clubs for a new lease of life.

Probus Club for East Auckland men and women. Visitors are welcome. Fun and fellowship, Speakers and monthly trips. Sub-groups for further activities including walking, writing, mahjong, petanque, cards, wine appreciation etc

Howick Bowling Club has been going for over 100 years and is the biggest and one of the top clubs in Auckland. Set near the historical village of Howick the club has three grass and two artificial greens enabling play all year round.

u3a Pakuranga is a community group that provides a place for those in the 3rd stage of their life journey (people who are either retired or semi-retired 50yrs plus) with an opportunity to come together in their local community. It’s a place to broaden your horizons, meet new people, and keep your mind active with top speakers at a monthly meeting. Plus keep learning and enjoy activities via a variety of interest groups that run across a month. Details of Interest Groups at u3a Pakuranga can be seen on our website.

Opening Hours:
U3a Pakuranga’s monthly meeting: 1st Monday of each month or if a public holiday falls on the 1st Monday, the meeting is held on the 2nd Monday.

U3A (University of the Thrid Age) is a worldwide movement bringing ‘third agers’ (aged 55 plus) together to meet new friends, have fun and follow new passions.

Grey Power is dedicated to the welfare, interests and concerns of the many people who are over 50 years and is a neutral but assertive voice of influence in the political arena with no party political affiliation.

SeniorNet Pakuranga offers Seniors a place to learn about today’s technology including Computers, Smart Phones, Tablets and Smart TV.

CrossNet is a network of community minded people in East Auckland and has become an important Community Hub for those committed to building community by supporting each other, using their abilities and resources. CrossNet links people with each other and creates communities of like minded people with common goals.

We encourage people to come earlier to see Floral Show bench displays. Many members bring their lunch at 12 noon and share time together. We have a mixture of activities offering demonstrations by Floral artists and workshops. All skill levels are encouraged. Afternoon tea is served at the end of the day when all can view the floral exhibits.
