Community Session: Kidney and Bowel Health

You’re Invited: Kidney and Bowel Health – Prevention and Checks

Join us for a health education session with two experienced educators, focusing on early detection, prevention, and support in two key areas of your health.

Sini from Kidney Health New Zealand will share practical advice on looking after your kidneys, understanding risk factors like high blood pressure and diabetes, and how simple lifestyle changes can make a difference.

Dana from the National Bowel Screening Programme will talk about the free bowel screening programme (for eligible New Zealanders aged 60 to 74, and what to do if you are over 74), what to expect, and why regular screening matters, even if you feel fine.

The session will cover:
✔ What your kidneys do and how to protect them
✔ Risk factors for kidney disease and early signs
✔ How bowel screening works
✔ The importance of early detection

Kidney Health will be offering free blood pressure, blood glucose and kidney function checks.
