You’re Invited: Staying Safe – Driver Refresher Course

Driving gives us freedom, independence and connection to our community. Staying confident and up to date with the road rules can help us keep that independence for longer. If you have had your licence for decades but never refreshed your Road Code knowledge, or are feeling a little unsettled because you have your medical coming up to renew your licence, this course is designed for you!

Join Tess Garner for a friendly and relaxed Staying Safe driving refresher course, designed especially for older drivers. This is not a driving test. It is an opportunity to refresh your knowledge, ask questions and feel more confident about staying safe on the road.

What you can expect from the session:

✓ A refresher on current road rules and safe driving practices
✓ Roundabout signalling and common road situations
✓ Blind spots and sharing the road safely with cyclists
✓ Helpful information about driver licence renewal as we get older
✓ A welcoming environment where you can ask questions and learn alongside others

Whether you drive every day or only occasionally, this session is a practical way to keep your knowledge current and support safe, confident driving.

Presented by Tess Garner from Age Concern with support from NZTA Waka Kotahi. Morning tea provided.
