Community Session: Staying Safe, Connected and In the Know
Thursday, 8 October 2026 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Staying Safe, Connected and in the Know – Practical advice from your local Police and Neighbourhood Support
Join Senior Constable Craig Hammonds and Howick Botany Neighbourhood Support Representative Heather Plummer for a practical and informative session about staying safe, confident and connected in your local community.
Feeling safe in our community isn’t just about locking the front door. It’s also about knowing what to look out for, who to contact and who can support you when you need it.
During this session you’ll learn about:
✓ How neighbours and community connections can help us look out for one another
✓Simple ways to improve your safety at home and when you’re out and about
✓ Who to contact and when, including when to use 111 or Police 105
✓ How Neighbourhood Support works and the support available in your local area
✓ Current community safety issues and practical advice directly from Police
There will also be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and talk directly with our speakers about the things that matter to you.
Come along, learn something new and get to know two of the local support services helping to keep our community safe, connected and informed.
Please join us for morning tea and a catch-up after the session
