Wednesday, 14 January 2026 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
You’re Invited: Outing to the Sikh Temple, Papatoetoe
We are warmly invited by Virtual Village East member Harjit Singh, Chairman of the Indian Kiwi Positive Ageing Charitable Trust, to visit the Sikh Temple (Gurdwara) in Papatoetoe.
This welcoming visit offers a chance to learn more about culture, traditions, and community values in an inclusive and respectful setting. Harjit will host the visit, share insights into the Sikh religious and cultural space, and guide us through the experience.
The outing includes Guru Ka Langar, the Sikh Temple community kitchen, a shared meal offered free of charge to everyone, regardless of religion, gender, background, or circumstance. Sharing Langar reflects the Sikh values of equality, generosity, and community.
The outing will include:
✔ A unique opportunity to visit Gurudwara Sri Dasmesh Darbar
✔ Shared vegetarian lunch in the community kitchen (free)
✔ Time for conversation and cultural exchange
